URBAN COUNCIL EMBILIPITIYA

INTRODUCTION

The compost project of the Embilipitiya urban council is established in Kadurugasara in the Sabaragamuwa province and the Rathnapura district.Unnecesory things which we thrown away in day-to-day life are called as garbage.Garbage is vast problem to everyone not only Sri Lankans but also all over the world.This problem is increasing day by day.Beauti of the environment is destroyed because of this garbage.The daily amount of waste spoils the beauty of the city. The bad behaviors of the humans directly affect on this.Garbage is a social problem as well as an environmental problem.Garbage consists different percentages of decaying and non-decaying waste.The decaying waste can be used to make fertilizer and non-decaying could be recycled using the latest technology.Embilipitiya urban council has produced compost fertilizer by using decaying garbage already.So wast management project of the Embilipitiya urban council is being conducted successfully.
